Loqui — Privacy Policy

Your voice never leaves your phone. Loqui recognises speech on the device itself. No audio and no transcript is uploaded to us or to anyone else, and there is no account to create.
What Loqui does with your speech
While you practise, Loqui listens through the microphone and converts what you say to text using Apple's on-device speech recognition. That work happens entirely on your iPhone.
- Audio is not recorded unless you turn on session recording yourself. If you do, the recording is saved on your device and is not uploaded.
- Transcripts stay on your device. A transcript is only saved at all if you ask for it, and it is stored locally.
- Your practice history — pace, clarity, filler counts, and the cadence boards you build — is stored on your device.
Deleting the app removes all of it. You can also erase everything from Settings → Data → Reset all local data.
What we do collect
Loqui uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used, so it can be improved. This is a small amount of information about what happens in the app, never about what you said.
- Which screens sessions start from, whether a session was finished, how long it ran, and the pace measured.
- When the paywall was shown and whether a subscription was bought.
- A device identifier Apple provides to us, used to keep one installation's events together. It is not used to track you across other apps or websites.
- Standard information Firebase collects automatically, such as app version, device model, and approximate region derived from your IP address.
No transcript, no audio, and no text you write is ever included. Every value sent is a number or a fixed label.
Analytics is not collected from development or TestFlight builds. You can turn it off in Settings.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Loqui never sees your name, card details, or Apple Account. We receive only whether this device has an active subscription. Apple's own handling of that transaction is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Who else is involved
- Apple — speech recognition on your device, and subscription billing.
- Google (Firebase) — the usage analytics described above. See Firebase's privacy information.
We do not sell data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Children
Loqui is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Because your practice data lives on your device, you control it directly: delete a session, reset all local data, or delete the app. For the usage analytics described above, write to the address below and we will delete what is associated with your installation.
If you are in the UK or the EU, you have rights under the UK GDPR and GDPR including access, correction, erasure, and objection. The lawful basis for the analytics above is legitimate interest in improving the app, and you can withdraw it at any time by turning analytics off in Settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and a material change will be noted in the app's release notes.
